Dr. Jaime de Jesús-Viñas
Dr. Jaime de Jesús-Viñas graduated with honors in 1974, from the Dental School of the University of Puerto Rico. In 1976, he completed his residency and obtained his Certificate in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester New York and a Master's degree in Dental Research at the University of Rochester in 1978.
He is a member and past president of the Sociedad de Especialistas en Ortodoncia de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Orthodontic Society) and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, as well as a member of the Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas of Puerto Rico, the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. He is certified as an orthodontist specialist by the Puerto Rico Dental Examining Board and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. A faculty member of the Medical Sciences Campus of the UPR for over 30 years, he is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the Dental School, and has lectured on various topics in Puerto Rico and USA. In addition, he is a reviewer for The American Journal of Orthodontics and a member of the Editorial Board of The World Journal of Orthodontics.
Among his many distinctions, he received the 2007 Gerard A. Devlin Award given by the Middle Atlantic Association of Orthodontists for significant contributions in the field of orthodontics.
